Employee Owned

We are a 100% Employee-Owned!  This means that 100% of the company’s stock is held in an Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP).  This stock is held by the men and women who serve our great clients, thus giving us a distinct advantage over our competitors.  The advantage is that our employee-owners have a vested interest in the current and future success of Freedom.  This helps to ensure that we at Freedom give our highest efforts towards being people of integrity, all the while serving our clients and stakeholders with a commitment to safety, quality, and respect.

Our Employee Owned journey began in 2013 when the founders of the organization, Doug and Patricia Ezzell began thinking about the legacy of Freedom and what their eventual departure would mean for the wonderful people who had helped grow the organization and for the great culture that had been established with a commitment to ministry in the business.  Through wise counsel, consideration, strategy, and prayer, the organization was converted from 100% Privately Held Corporation to 100% Employee-Owned in November of 2014.

Freedom Industries is proud to be one of many companies that exemplify employee-ownership in America. We have actively participated in this movement by becoming active members of The ESOP Association and its Chapters. We were honored when the Carolinas Chapter (NC/SC) of The ESOP Association named Freedom Industries, Inc. the 2017 Employee-Owned Company of the Year.  As a 100% employee-owned company, Freedom Industries understands that employees’ individual and collective commitment to our mission will lead directly to the success of the company in the long term.
