Position Summary:
The Site Safety Representative visits job sites or may be assigned to specific job sites. It is their responsibility to ensure a safe, healthy and accident-free work environment on all assigned projects. This position assists in training Team Members on governmentally required training as well as job site specific safety training. The Site Safety Representative executes the random drug screening process. This position will deliver corrective counsel as necessary for violation of drug and/or safety policies.
​Essential Functions

Review and develop Safe Plan of Action (SPA) Documents daily and turn into main office electronically daily.

Ensure adherence to site specific safety procedure compliance as well as Freedom Industries Inc. safety policies.

Keep track/inventory of all PPE, fall protection, confined space and first aid related items.

Track safety observation reports (SOR’s) as needed.
-
Assist field employees in obtaining/completing site specific permits when needed.
-
Conduct and prepare Lockout/Tagout procedures as required.
-
Conduct monthly random drug screenings as needed.
-
Conduct daily toolbox talks on job relevant safety items. (10 min. max)
-
Conduct at least two site audits daily and submit electronically to the main office.

Spend at least 75% of time during the shift in the field observing.

Be involved in all critical risk activities on site. (LOTO, Confined space, Crane lifts, Working at heights, Excavations, etc.)

Conduct Accident Investigations as needed.

Attend all safety meetings on site.

Inspect for all inspected equipment to ensure compliance (Drop cords, Tools, Lifts, Ladders, etc.)

Conduct required safety training for Freedom Industries, Inc. employees.

Perform any other tasks directly related to safety that are specified in the written job contracts.

Conduct continuing education daily for safety related items. (Webinars, online training, etc.)

Other duties as assigned.

Experience/Education/Other Requirements:
-
Associates Degree or Equivalent Experience
-
OSHA 500 Training required
-
5 years’ experience with safety management in an Industrial Construction environment
-
1 year knowledge of governmental ES&H standards, rules and regulations
-
1 year proficiency in applying standards, rules and regulations to construction projects
-
1 year working knowledge of safe working practices and conducting accident investigations
-
2 years proficiency with Microsoft Office
-
Valid NC Drivers License with clean driving record required
