Position Summary:
 

The primary focus of Business Development at Freedom Industries is to enhance client relationships within our Target Market, fostering business growth. Responsibilities include securing market share, meeting client needs, and promoting our unique value proposition. This entails prospecting and onboarding new clients through marketing, networking, cold-calling, entertainment, and referrals.

Business Development fosters rapport with new clients, acts as a liaison between Operations and clients, and presents new solutions to existing accounts. Collaboration with various departments is essential for improving business within our Target Market, along with strategic planning to develop a robust pipeline of new business opportunities.

This role requires a deep understanding of the market, competitors, capabilities, and solutions offered by Freedom.

Skills And Abilities
 

  • Sales experience (Industry knowledge is a strength but may not be required).
     

  • Develop, improve, and utilize marketing tools (print material, social media, website, e-marketing, Lunch and Learns, etc).
     

  • Networking via professional organizations.
     

  • Ability to develop a compelling presentation and communicate thoughts in a logical and clear manner (use of Power Point).

Essential Functions

​

  • Represent Freedom Industries’ Core Values and Core Focus.
     

  • Advance the Freedom ‘brand’ within our Target Market. Be the ‘face of Freedom’.
     

  • Build relationships with clients & cultivate relationships amongst clients and our Operations team.
     

  • Hunt & obtain opportunities to bid through client relations. 
     

  • Collaborate with the BD team to develop and implement marketing tools.
     

  • Actively engage/participate in networking events and organizations.
     

  • Collaborate with the BD team to plan and execute client appreciation events.
     

  • Manage a specific territory. Establish and sustain trust among all clients within one’s territory. Discover client needs and present how Freedom can successfully meet those needs.
     

  • Establish and sustain trust among the Operations team.
     

  • Assess customer satisfaction and report feedback appropriately. 
     

  • Utilize a Customer Relations Management (CRM) database to manage client connections and activity in one’s territory.
     

  • Maintain availability to clients during non-working hours.
     

  • Adhere to the Sales Cycle core process.

Experience/Education/Other Requirements:
 

  • 5 years’ experience with Microsoft Office. 
     

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
     

  • 1 year sales experience.
     

  • 1 year territory management skills.
     

  • 1 year marketing experience (social media, e-marketing, website, etc).
     

  • 1 year networking experience via a professional organization.
     

  • 1 year experience in similar market (Industrial pharma, food/beverage, auto, sawmill, pulp/paper a plus).
     

  • 1 year public speaking experience is a plus.
