Position Summary:
The Cost Engineer will be expected to produce takeoffs, use estimating software, prepare BOM’s for vendors, review specs & RFP as well as any other duties as assigned by Senior Estimator.

​Essential Functions

Learn the strategies and processes of the Estimating Department
-
Read drawings and analyze all other applicable documents to produce takeoffs
-
Assess projects by identifying project requirements up front regarding time, labor, material and schedule
-
Collaborate with team as well as outside customers to produce overall accurate estimates
-
Finish estimates in a timely manner as directed by Estimating Manager to ensure essential review time

Determining what factors of production will influence the cost of a service or product
-
Preparing material estimates and cost estimates for the product or service

Developing and maintaining relationships with company vendors and contractors
-
Managing bids from vendors and subcontractors
-
Using bid data to prepare detailed a cost analysis
-
Presenting prepared estimates to management and other stakeholders

Attend Job Walks as necessary

Experience/Education/Other Requirements:
-
Critical thinking, analytical and organizational skills
-
Basic understanding of the Electrical Industry & ability to review drawings
-
Excellent written and oral communication skills
-
Basic computer skills and elementary knowledge of MS Office Products
-
Must possess excellent customer service skills
-
Interpersonal communication skills, both written and verbal
-
Bachelor’s degree or field experience desired

Will be expected to become ingrained into the EOS (Entrepreneurial Operating System)
